I decided to do a little night photography with my new camera, the Lumix G5, just to try out the different filters and test the video at night. Las Vegas really comes alive at night, the neon lights and glitz all looks better under the cloak of darkness. Most of the shots are around the Bellagio Hotel and Casino lake which has a beautiful water fountain show at night. I recorded four videos of the water show and a few night shots of Las Vegas.
The Bellagio also contains a Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. In total, there are five seasonal themes that the Conservatory undergoes: Chinese New Year, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. The plantings are usually pretty spectacular so we decided to drop in. The day we visited, a harpist was playing as you can see to the left of the picture above. Such a beautiful place.
The conservatory is enclosed in an old-fashioned glass and copper roof.
After writing about caviar, I really got hungry and we decided to go down to Petrossian at the Bellagio Casino for an elegant lunch. It is a nice little restaurant, tucked in near the check-in desk for the Bellagio. A great place for people watching and with the live piano most of the time you feel like you are in your own little world. My two favorite places for caviar in Las Vegas are Petrossian and Red Square at Mandalay Bay, there they have really great frozen vodka. Petrossian is also the place to go for high tea in the afternoon if you are in the mood.
