The Best Ice-Cream in Paris

Just around the corner from Notre Dame is this ice-creme store, always with very long lines. We decided to have an ice cream cone and it was a decadent delicious chocolate cone that lingered on the tongue and filled my mouth with chocolate. I must confess, I have never had better ice cream.

Berthillon is a French manufacturer and retailer of luxury ice cream and sorbet, with its primary store on the Île Saint-Louis in Paris, although the store on Île de la Citi seems to do plenty of business due to Notre Dame. The company is owned and operated by the Chauvin family, descendants of Monsieur Berthillon, who opened the first store in 1954. Its ice creams are made from only milk, sugar, cream and eggs. Some people believe this is the best ice creme in the world and I am inclined to agree.

Civilization

Every society has a specific set of ideas and customs, and a certain set of manufactures and arts that make it unique. Because ancient civilizations continue to influence us today, and because I love history, I have devoted many posts to prehistory and ancient civilizations.
