Prisma. Graphic Artistry for Everyone

Prisma. Graphic Artistry for Everyone

Prisma. Graphic Artistry for Everyone

There was a time when people thought a painter’s work was so intricate and personal, it was deemed impossible to recreate. By using a combination of neural networks and artificial intelligence, the end results with Prisma are a real sight to behold. It doesn’t just put a filter over your image, it actually scans the data to apply the style in an impressive way. These photos have already been published on Flickr but they illustrate the graphic power of Prisma. I think this “filter” is a major addition to graphic design. That said, it is an iPhone app and arbitrary crops the result to a square, suitable for Instagram. Currently you cannot change the aspect ratio. This is such a serious advance that I am certain these minor inconveniences will be answered in a future update.

By now you get the picture, I don’t know how I will use this new app but it is a welcome addition to the ever growing universe of graphic design.

Civilization

Every society has a specific set of ideas and customs, and a certain set of manufactures and arts that make it unique. Because ancient civilizations continue to influence us today, and because I love history, I have devoted many posts to prehistory and ancient civilizations.
