Laguna Cliffs Marriott, Dana Point, California

Laguna Cliffs is one of our favorite getaways, due partly to it's proximity to Las Vegas but also to the charming architecture newly remodeled in 2010. This hotel is also located in Dana Point, which has a huge park right in front of the hotel for walking and a marina at the bottom of the hill. This is another post on my series on California coastal resorts.

For some reason this particular location on the California coast has a morning fog that usually lasts until about noon, a little longer than other places.

They have a gorgeous pool with a dead on view of the ocean.

The restaurant has a great patio with ocean views, appropriately named the “Vue”.

They also have this amazing restored “Woody”, an iconic car of the Beach Boys surfing era.

This is one of the larger marinas on the California coast and you can rent boats and jet skis here as well as go out fishing. Also there is a promenade with lots of little shops and restaurants. All in all a nice place to stay, particularly if you are into water sports.

Civilization

Every society has a specific set of ideas and customs, and a certain set of manufactures and arts that make it unique. Because ancient civilizations continue to influence us today, and because I love history, I have devoted many posts to prehistory and ancient civilizations.
